BC possesses exceptional water-retention properties, is environmentally friendly, and does not hinder the growth and development of tree roots, making it an ideal candidate as a water-retaining matrix material for afforestation in deserts. By enriching BC around the roots of tree, we aim to enhance the drought tolerance and survival rate of newly transplanted trees, thereby contributing to the mitigation of land desertification.
