Making a Pro Puppet with Accessible Materials
Sometimes when new people come to professional puppet building, some of the materials can seem a bit exotic. Specific kinds of fleece, foam, etc.
In this live stream archive from a few years ago I demonstrate that it's quite possible to build a high quality puppet with materials that are widely available, and not expensive, plus explain why certain materials are favorable. Learning these techniques are the foundation of all puppet building, and it's great to practice with these affordable materials!

Design a Puppet From Scratch!
In these live stream archives from a few years ago, Kevin demonstrates his techniques for designing puppet patterns from scratch. Patterns are one thing newcomers often struggle with but they don't have to be complex or expensive!

Shouting into the Void
Shouting into the Void is a sitcom from the folks at Ellijay Makerspace about various deep space explorers, charged with building an intergalactic communications network, in a universe that has forgotten about them. They’re alone, they’re barely holding it together, and they’ve been abandoned. It’s a light comedy about a dark subject.
Unmet Dependencies
Proprietary tools, consultancies, remote labor... The reality in the digital industry is as hard to cope with as it is building software in Haskell. Freedom is luxury, but also a burden. Open your mind, open the source!
It is through these 2 tracks that i found the To Setto Setto in me. Before that i used to do some (Excellent, but) sort of lamo Electro-pop. Originally released under Sethybwoy, around 2016, they got some traction in Cyperpunk and geek circles, but never quite made it further…
I don’t really expect them to go so much longer this time, the odds are about the same as winning the EU-Jackpot Lottery. But i decided they belonged to To Setto Setto now and i can do as I please with them.
Hope you like them!
Keystone Studios
Keystone Studios was an early film studio founded in Edendale, California (which is now a part of Echo Park) on July 4, 1912 as the Keystone Pictures Studio by Mack Sennett with backing from actor-writer Adam Kessel (1866–1946) and Charles O. Baumann (1874–1931), owners of the New York Motion Picture Company (founded 1909). The company, referred to at its office as The Keystone Film Company, filmed in and around Glendale and Silver Lake, Los Angeles for several years, and its films were distributed by the Mutual Film Corporation between 1912 and 1915. The Keystone film brand declined rapidly after Sennett went independent in 1917.
The original main building, the first totally enclosed film stage and studio in history, is still standing. It is located at 1712 Glendale Blvd in Echo Park, Los Angeles and is now being used as a Public storage facility.
Data Workers' Inquiry
15 data workers in Venezuela, Kenya, Syria, and Germany conduct research with their colleagues in their respective workplaces and reporting on labor conditions and widespread practices in the AI industry.
The Data Workers’ Inquiry is a community-based research project in which data workers join us as community researchers to lead their own inquiry in their respective workplaces. The community researchers guide the direction of the research, such that it is oriented towards their needs and goals of building workplace power but supported by formally trained qualitative researchers. We adapt Marx’s 1880 Workers’ Inquiry to the phenomenon of data workers who are both essential for contemporary AI applications yet precariously employed—if at all—and politically dispersed.

International Day Against DRM 2022
Our sixteenth annual International Day Against DRM (IDAD) stood up for the freedom to share cultural works, continuing our fight against Digital Restrictions Management (DRM). Each year, the Free Software Foundation (FSF) rallies anti-DRM advocates from all over the world for a day of action against digital restriction. This year was no exception, building on the recent efforts we've made in our year-end fundraiser to draw attention to something vitally important for the free software movement and cultural endeavors alike: The freedom to share.
In addition to our call to use DRM-free media as a springboard for starting a conversation about DRM with a friend or loved ones, we took to the streets of Boston to interview passersby on how they felt about digital sharing. These videos are a peak of some of our results.
Interoperability
Interoperability has played an important role in the digital efforts of an EU more interconnected, open and sovereign. In order to be able to have information systems and devices that work seamlessly together, a critical infrastructure is needed, and Free Software together with Open Standards play a fundamental role in these efforts.
Free Software is crucial when building public services that are accessible to everyone across borders and sectors. Open Standards provide the conditions needed for those systems to be able to communicate with each other enabling the free sharing of data. These two prevent lock-in and other artificial barriers to interoperability and promote choice between vendors and technology solutions.
